SCARS: Drum Tracks For New Album Completed
January 23, 2008Brazilian thrashers SCARS have finished laying down the drum tracks for their new album, "Devilgod Alliance", due in the spring. New drummer Joao Gobo (ARUM, DARKNESS IN FLAMES, HEVILAN) recorded all 11 tracks in a single five-hour session at Q studio in Sao Paulo.
Video footage of the drum-recording sessions can be viewed below.
According to the group, the album's lyrical concept will be based on ageless literature masterpieces that portray evil as a character (i.e.: "Masque of the Red Death" and "The Raven" by E. A. Poe, Goethe's "Faust", "Macbeth" by W. Shakespeare, etc.).
Gobo lists his main influences as Dave Lombardo, Pete Sandoval and Gene Hoglan, among many others.
